Today is the day! The first day of the 2022 Sugar Coated Stars Quilt Along! For week 1, we are picking our fabrics! I love to sew, but picking fabrics is sometimes the best part for me! We all love fabric!!
I’ve chosen these beautiful fabrics Cheer and Merriment by Fancy That Design House for Moda Fabrics, to sew my next version along with you!
Considerations when choosing your fabric
When choosing your fabrics for the pattern, you’ll want to make sure that you have a good contrast between the stars and your background fabric, otherwise, the stars could appear washed out. Another important consideration with this pattern is the size of some of the blocks. I suggest that you go through the pattern and take note of the finished sizes of some of the units. You may not want to choose a large scale print for smaller blocks!
